When Sinergi was first created, CoFeCo rejected their proposal and reasoned that their combined buying power would put unreasonable forces on local suppliers to lower prices but was then accepted when Sinergi restated that creation of the consortium was in response to Walmart’s low prices and control of the market. Many issues resulted from Sinergi’s acceptance as a single buying body and of these; things like keeping a f ully disclosed record of deals and purchases, and being limited to only local suppliers are only two of the disadvantages. If Sinergi’s strategy is carried out with diligence and all three members cooperatively do their part in disclosing and being transparent with purchases then I feel they will effectively compete with Walmart in the retail market. Movie Analysis Big Fish Essay Within the film â€Å"Big Fish,† there are multiple hidden meanings and messages. The main character William believes that his father Edward Bloom has used made up stories and hasn’t show his true character. Will stops all communication with his dad and moves far away with his wife. When he finds out that his father is dying, he comes home to try one last time to feel like he knows his father. This is when Edward tells the stories from his past. His flashbacks take us back to the story of his life. There are multiple themes in this film. Throughout the flashbacks, the movie uses the metaphor of â€Å"a big fish in a small pond† to describe Edward as a young man. He made such a large impact on everyone that he saw through his adventure, ambition and overall success in life. The title can also be interpreted in the most literal sense as the Large Catfish that is myth in the Movie. Also as some people say A Big Fish Tale and as Edward Bloom tells it, so was his life. There is also multiple meaning in the town of Spectre, it means different things at different times. It was the town that Edward had always hoped to find, but he never found it at the right time. In his life, he dreamed of a place like Spectre but left to do bigger things. Later in life, he bought over the town when he wasn’t there to save in its hour of need. Its not that he was lying about his life, its that he simply saw it through a different perspective. I think this movie viewpoint is a about the joy of delusion. Remembering things the way they make you feel better. Having a Grandpa that told crazy stories that were exaggerated would the story, when played out bit by bit, be possibly more grand than the actuality. The way that some of the characters in his stories showed up at his funeral, but some not exactly as hed said, furthers the point. At the end of it all, it comes down to the way you prefer to remember your life, if you’re a little off or stretch it a bit, does it really matter? William is struggling with really knowing his father throughout the film. In spite of him, in his dads last moments he participates with him in the dream that was his life, even though he knew it wasnt the full truth. In my opinion, Big Fish is an exercise in remembering events in your life the way you want to remember them, because when the everything falls into place, what are you left with? Or more importantly, what legacy do you want to leave behind? For Big Fish you could make it work but showing the difference between the way the story looked in the beginning and the how things fell into place at the funeral in the end. The physical reality of them was not the same as we were lead to believe but it never mattered, its the moral that counted. That was truth.

A Murderer's Journey Through The Works of Dostoyevsky and Poe A Murderer's Journey Through The Works of Dostoyevsky and Poe Some people believe that most murderers have a mental illness which causes them to commit their crime. This belief is strongly disagreed with by the authors Edgar Allan Poe and Fyodor Dostoevsky. Crime and Punishment, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat,and The Cask of Amontillado are very similar in this contradiction. Each murderer takes a specific journey that has been illustrated in each case. The psychological make-up of each murderer shows that he is a normal person up to the point at which something compels him to commit this horrible crime, and after that his conscience usually leads to his own downfall. Before the murder has been committed the character is a regular human being. In most cases the characters that end up carrying through with this crime are above average people. Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment is "... quite an extraordinarily handsome young man..." (Crime and Punishment, pg.21) Raskolnikov is a very gifted university student, with a very good talent for figuring people out. Raskolinikov takes great pride and care for his family. On receiving a letter from his mother ...he quickly raised the letter to his lips and kissed it; then he spent a long time poring over the handwriting on the envelope, over the small, slanting handwriting, so familiar and dear to him, of his mother who had once taught him to read and write. (Crime and Punishment, pg.47) Raskolnikov's mother, who taught him how to read and write did this job quite well. This resulted in a very gifted and brilliant university student. This point is illustrated throughout the novel from the planning and carrying out of the murder, to interactions with the police. The narrator from the short story "The Black Cat" describes his "tenderness of heart was even so conspicuous as to make me the jest of his companions." ("The Black Cat", pg.390) He is quite a regular human being who is "...especially fond of animals..." ("The Black Cat", pg.390) The narrator also has a great wife whom he describes as being quite similar to himself, which shows that he must be quite normal if a good woman chooses to marry him. Much alike is the narrator from the short story "The Tell-Tale Heart". Again this character is full of love. The victim of his crime had done no wrong and for that the narrator "...loved the old man." ("The Tell-Tale Heart", pg.384) The narrator shows the same brilliance in planning the crime that Raskolnikov exhibits. People with great intelligence, great lives, possessions and friends must be normal people. This seems to hold true in the short story "The Cask of Amontillado". The narrator is a man with great wealth. He has many friends which would signify that he is quite a normal character. He lives in a nice house with servants and fine wine. This all seems to show that his mind is intact, if he obtains and keeps these symbols of success. It seems as if each and every character discussed is quite a normal human being. In most cases the wealth, knowledge, or love of others is far above average than most other human beings. The normal psychological make-up of a murderer has to change before the crime is committed. Something must happen in the character's life that causes them to alter their reasoning ability into something that maybe considered as insanity. It is seen quite clear that the loving character from "The Black Cat" "experienced a radical alteration for the worse." ("The Black Cat", pg.391) The turning point in his mind was explained by the narrator. "But my disease grew upon me - for what disease is like Alcohol!" ("The Black Cat, pg.392) This problem with alcohol is clearly the point at which the reasoning of the character changes. In Raskolnikov's case this change is also quite clear. For an above average university student it would be devastating to see education slip through his fingers beyond control. "He was crushed by poverty, but even straitened circumstances had ceased to worry him lately." (Crime and Punishment, pg.19) The poverty causes Raskolnikov to leave university. Upon leaving university he is left alone with his thoughts. "At that moment he was fully aware that his thoughts were at times confused and that he was very weak: for two days now he had had hardly anything to eat." It was the most notable of all Irish crystal companies. In 1799, the Penrose brothers sold Waterford Glass to the Gatchell family. The crystal industry was prosperous until 1825. Irish glass manufacturers began to slowly close due to high export duties, the economic depression, and a lack of capital. Waterford Glass was the last to close in 1851. It was reestablished nearly a century later by Charles Bacik and Bernard Fitzpatrick. In 1947, they set up a factory in Waterford, Ireland. A turning point in the company's history came in 1950 when Joe McGrath made a sizable investment in Waterford Glass. He invested the capital needed to convert the small crystal manufacturing company into one with the potential to become a major player in the crystal industry. This investment gave his family control for the next thirty-five years. Joe McGrath was committed to Ireland and providing jobs for his country. He wanted to reduce the country's high unemployment level. His focus for Waterford Glass was on growing the company through exports to the United States. In 1966, Joe McGrath's son, Paddy McGrath, took over management of Waterford Glass. Like his father, he was dedicated to Ireland and to providing employment opportunities for the Irish. McGrath's quest to provide more jobs for the Irish led him to diversify the company. By 1983, the company had acquired more than thirty non-core businesses. To reflect the expansion, management changed the company's name to Waterford Glass Group. In 1985, Paddy McGrath resigned as chairman of Waterford Glass. In this relation, it should be mentioned that team worked accordingly. However, there were occasional problems but were negotiated well enough. There were occasional problems. There was one incident where someone did not attend. Under such conditions, it became very hard to meet ends. I emailed constantly until I got a response. It was frustrating but I persisted with my goal. I understand the ability to overcome challenges while working in a team under nursing parameters is a very important challenge it needs to overcome. The relation between the individual of the team and the team present in the team's plays a crucial role in not only expansion and development of the team however as well for quandary free performance as a whole. The emphasis should be on good relationships and sound terms and conditions of understanding between team members with consent of all the parties. Work Completed As per the graph presented, it is obvious that the major part of the job or data mining has been completed well within schedule and it can be stated that the job completed was satisfying. The main jobs done during this period were completion of literature review, collection of interviews and transcribe of interviews. There was enough information collected to start the process analysis. It did appear that the team had worked together and instrumented as unit. It is true that while working there was incidents of drift and fragmentations within the team. However, in the long run every student of the team realized that to yield effective and positive result it is required to approach the job on the plan that was chalked in the beginning. Thus, once the students understood the usefulness of team collaboration every aspect was placed accordingly. The main team strategy that was formulated can be identified as progress and check method. Here each student was scheduled to do a job that was further sub divided into parts. After the completion of each part there was a meeting among the students who would then evaluate the job done and pass a verdict whether it is needed to re do the part or not. In a way, this method of operation was tedious and slow. It can be stated that in future team presentation the students would approach in a different method. As a result, I feel that there is enough scope of improvement in the context of presentation strategy. It is my view that the students would
